Just in case someone doesn't go away with the idea that
I don't think I've made mistakes, I lay them out here (at least the ones
I know about) for all to see.
Working on a Rusted Z. -- I should have scrapped the
thing and got one from the Southwest US.
Buying the Tremec 5spd. -- O.k., so I didn't know at
the time that it was supposedly notchy, and I haven't driven it yet, but
now, a used F-body T56 is about the same amount of money, once you figure
in all the parts you need for either setup.
Not welding a cage in before I had the inside and underside of the car
painted.
Getting more picky as time goes on. -- This started as a simple
project that turned into a full tear-down, almost show car detailed beast.
Hence. part of the reason for the incredible length of this project.
Just about every system of the car has been modified.
Paying for extensive bodywork at an hourly rate. --But
I hate bodywork, can't do it well, and I couldn't find anyone to do it
for a fixed price. This got to be VERY expensive, probably half the
cost of the project.
Building the motor at the BEGINNING of the project. --
I should have waited until the body was ready, but the mistake 2 bullets
above figures in here.
I'm sure there's more I don't know about or have forgotten,
but there you have it.
